Chapter 1642: Lady Begonia

Chapter 1642: Lady Begonia

A group of people slowly stepped closer amidst a sea of dancing petals.

They were all cute and innocent-looking boys and girls, and they were carrying lanterns in their hands.

Some of them were carrying a litter that was weaved from flowers and branches, and a woman in her thirties was sitting on it. The woman wore a dress of petals that exposed her arms and feet. Her countenance was as exquisite as a painting, and her aura was holy and elegant. She looked like a celestial from the heavens.

When the woman came closer, the begonia petals danced harder, and begonia branches shook as if cheering for her. On the ground, the kneeling people grew visibly excited as they kowtowed and chanted Lady Begonia’s name.

Lady Begonia waved her hand, and some of the petals landed on their person. Something strange happened then. These people began shrinking rapidly at the same time their violent, savage, or cold faces slowly turned genial, innocent, and childlike.

They had become the same as the boys and girls accompanying Lady Begonia in the blink of an eye.

The rest of the group were gawking. If they hadn’t witnessed this with their own eyes, they wouldn’t believe that these boys and girls were changed from burly, surly men or vicious, cruel women.

Snow Wolf, Old Ghost, Beheader and Child Boss were the same.

Although they were safe and sound, and this wasn’t the first time they had seen Lady Begonia carry out her work, the scene still shocked them and scared them greatly.

“This is much better,” said Lady Begonia with an unbelievably beautiful smile on her face.

“Congratulations on mastering your divine art, Lady Begonia! The day you become a Sage is at hand!”

Old Ghost hurriedly saluted Lady Begonia when the woman began walking toward them. Snow Wolf, Beheader and Child Boss were the same. They were treating her with the greatest respect and attention. It was a stark contrast compared to their vicious, arrogant bearing from before.

They might all be Truemen, but they were nothing compared to Lady Begonia.

After all, Lady Begonia was a Half-Sage.

A powerful existence who was only half a step away from transcending mortality and becoming a Sage.

The Northmost Snow Region was incredibly vast, but Lady Begonia was strong enough in both cultivation level and strength to become its top five warriors.

More importantly, Lady Begonia was infamous for her cruelty and evil arts.

That’s right. Lady Begonia might look elegant and holy like a god or a celestial, but in reality she was as cruel and evil as a demon.

The martial art Lady Begonia practiced was called the “Great Brahma Myriad Manifestation of the Flesh and Blood True Art”. She had obtained it from an ancient tomb.

The “Great Brahma Myriad Manifestation of the Flesh and Blood True Art” preached that the flesh and blood was the everything of a living being and the foundation of Buddhahood or celestialhood. Therefore, the “Great Brahma Myriad Manifestation of the Flesh and Blood True Art” allowed the practitioner to control their flesh and blood and change them in countless ways.

At the adept level, the practitioner could not just transform themselves into all kinds of things, they could transform other flesh-and-blood beings into animals, insects, Strangers and more. Of course, they could also wither away one’s flesh and blood, separate their bodies into several pieces and more with a single thought. It was a terribly scary art.

This was how Lady Begonia had transformed those people into boys and girls. The boys and girls accompanying her must have been transformed from adult warriors like them as well.

Although the “Great Brahma Myriad Manifestation of the Flesh and Blood True Art” was powerful, its cultivation process was extremely complicated and stringent. Lady Begonia had kidnapped flesh-and-blood beings from everywhere including animals, Strangers, and even humans to subsume their bodies and turn them into her foundation. She had performed all kinds of horrific experiments and turned her victim into all sorts of indescribable monsters as well.

Even powerful, heartless warriors who mostly met no match in the Northmost Snow Region were intimidated by her. It was because Lady Begonia’s heinous actions had once earned her the fear, panic, and greed of the locals. As a result, several champions had made alliances with each other and mustered their forces to hunt down Lady Begonia.

Unfortunately, they had completely underestimated Lady Begonia’s strength, and the battle went anything but well. Lady Begonia had casually turned humans into showers of blood and gore with a wave of the hand; turned hunters into Strangers with the flick of a finger. She had easily slain the famous champions who had mostly dominated the Northmost Snow Region for over a decade. That was the battle that had swelled and cemented Lady Begonia’s reputation.

That said, Lady Begonia had learned her lesson. She became much more careful and reserved when committing her atrocities. That was why she avoided being targeted by the old monsters living in the Northmost Snow Region.

Later, Lady Begonia entered the Half-Sage stage and became one of the most powerful warriors in the Northmost Snow Region. Even fewer people dared to test her patience since.

It was rumored that Lady Begonia had spent the last couple of years in secluded cultivation in hopes of breaking down the wall standing between her and Sagehood. That was why she hadn’t shown herself to the public for a very long time.

Unfortunately, it would seem that she had exited her seclusion, and they were unfortunate enough to run into her.

If they knew that Lady Begonia would show up, they would have run as far away as the horizon would allow. They would not have given even a mountain of silver or gold a second glance.

Unfortunately, there was no medicine for regret. Worse, Lady Begonia felt as tall as an insurmountable mountain, and as deep as a bottomless abyss to their senses. She had clearly made a substantial amount of progress in her cultivation and strength. She truly must be close to becoming a Sage.

Perhaps all she was missing now was an opportunity.

“What’s wrong? It looks like you don’t want to see me.” Lady Begonia looked down on the quartet and asked in a calm, emotionless voice.

“Of course not! It is our honor to meet you, lady! You cannot imagine how happy we are feeling right now.” Child Boss giggled in his innocent, childlike voice. He was acting like the goodest boy in the world.

Even the arrogant and brutal Snow Wolf and Beheader were nodding their heads and echoing in agreement obediently.

Lady Begonia shot them a glance before asking lazily, “Are you aware that this is my territory?”

Old Ghost, Snow Wolf, Beheader and Child Boss broke into a sheen of cold sweat. Of course they knew that this was Lady Begonia’s territory. However, they thought that she was practicing in seclusion and believed that they would be safe. If they knew they would run into Lady Begonia, they would rather die than crossing the line.

Of course, they only dared to think about this, not say it out loud. “We are terribly sorry for disturbing your peaceful cultivation, lady. We know we are deserving of a million deaths. We shall take our leave and not become a nuisance to you immediately.”

“Did I say you can leave?” When they turned around though, Lady Begonia’s question caused them to sweat like pigs once more.

Lady Begonia continued, “Do you know why I haven’t dealt with you four?”

Old Ghost saluted her and bowed. “Please enlighten us, lady.”

Lady Begonia said slowly, “It is because I am at a critical moment of my cultivation right now. Alas, I am currently missing some ingredients, so...”

“We understand! We will obtain the ingredients you seek right now!” Old Ghost hurriedly replied before Lady Begonia could finish.

“Very good.” Lady Begonia was very satisfied with their attitude. She continued, “I do not want animals or Strangers though. Not this time. I only want humans. They must not be too old either. Ideally, I only want children.”

“Understood.” Old Ghost and the others nodded. “How many do you need, lady?”

Lady Begonia replied, “The more the better.” Old Ghost answered, “Understood. We will see it done.”

“Good. I await the good news.”

Lady Begonia promised, “If you accomplish your task well, I promise to reward you all after I have become a Sage.”

“Thank you, lady. We will not disappoint you.” Old Ghost and the others were overjoyed to hear this. If they could do Lady Begonia a favor and earn her goodwill as a result, then this wasn’t a disappointing end. No, it was a golden opportunity.

“We will go right now!” The four warriors were eager to start.
