Chapter 1541: Waiting For The Fishes

“Oh my, what a fantastic treasure!” Old Ghost’s eyes flashed dark. “Since no one seems interested, I will happily take it for myself.”

Old Ghost immediately turned into a puff of smoke and flew toward the falling horse carriage.

“The treasure is mine! No one but me can have it!”

Snow Wolf roared and charged toward the horse carriage as well.

Naturally, Beheader and Child Boss were right beside them.

“I thought you don’t care about the treasure? Why are you competing against me for it?”

Seeing that everyone was gunning after the horse carriage, Old Ghost waved his hand and caused a grayish fog to spread out into the surroundings. It quickly covered up Snow Wolf, Beheader and the others.

A massive white wolf appeared behind Snow Wolf’s back. It looked mighty cool and impressive. When it let out a long howl, countless ice blades appeared in the sky and shot out in every direction. Some of it ripped apart the grayish fog, and some flew toward Old Ghost, Beheader, and Child Boss.

Beheader grabbed his broken saber in a reverse grip, and there was a flash of saber. His saber was still residing inside his sheath, so it looked as if the flash from earlier was just an illusion.

Old Ghost, Snow Wolf and Child Boss all paled and jumped away from their original spots though. The next moment, the ground in front of them was suddenly covered in countless scars and saber intent.

“Oh my, Beheader! How can you launch such a brutish attack against an old man like me? Where is your shame?”

“You are courting death, Beheader!”

Child Boss shouted, and his childish voice suddenly turned sharp and shrill. The snow within a kilometer of him abruptly exploded and transformed into all sorts of lifelike animals such as tigers, panthers, wolves and more. They all pounced toward Beheader.

Beheader stomped the ground, and a flash erupted from underneath his feet. The next moment, the animals pouncing toward him had all been beheaded.

“To the strong goes the treasures. Their treasures are mine.” Beheader sneered as he cut right through the Wind Tsunami in front of him like a saber and crossed hundreds of meters in an instant.

“We gotta stop fighting among each other. That bastard is going to get the treasure otherwise,” Snow Wolf urged Old Ghost and Child Boss.

“Hmph. Let’s join hands and take out Beheader first.” Child Boss harrumphed while wearing a cold, murderous glint.

Old Ghost beamed. “Sure! The boy doesn’t know how to respect the old or cherish the young. He deserves death.”

Snow Wolf merely sneered and brushed off Child Boss’ words.

Join hands?

Forget joining hands, he would be lucky if they didn’t backstab him later.

You could not trust a single word coming out of these people’s mouths. You lost the moment you did so.

Still, they stopped trying to get in each other’s way and focused on catching up to Beheader.

In fact, they weren’t the only group making for the horse carriage. Several figures were dashing toward the horse carriage as well.

The Northmost Snow Region was infamous for its greedy, suicidal maniacs after all.

“The treasure is mine.”

A hint of greed and passion temporarily broke through Beheader’s ice cold eyes as he got closer and closer to the horse carriage.

The next moment, he reached out and shaped a massive hawk’s claw with his true qi and made a grab for the horse carriage.

However, the horse carriage once again glowed bright and repelled his claw before he could make contact with it.

“It really is a fantastic treasure!”

Beheader was happy to see this though. He made a grab for the horse carriage once more.

“Get lost! The horse carriage is mine!” Unfortunately, the short delay was enough time for Snow Wolf, Old Ghost and Child Boss to catch up to him. The next moment, the quartet fought among themselves.

They all wanted to take the horse carriage for themselves. They did not want it to fall into another person’s hand. As a result, they were locked into a stalemate.

Slowly, more and more people caught up.

Some people saw Beheader, Snow Wolf, Old Ghost and Child Boss and grew wary. They decided not to join in the fight for the horse carriage. Some people didn’t give a damn and fought for the horse carriage immediately.

“No one will get the treasure at this rate.”

Seeing that the number of competitors were growing, and the situation was growing increasingly complicated by the second, Old Ghost hurriedly suggested, “How about we temporarily work together and take out the others first? Then, we’ll split the treasure later.”

“Agreed.” The trio weren’t stupid. They immediately agreed to Old Ghost’s suggestion.

If they agreed to work together, then they wouldn’t be able to monopolize the loot. But if they kept fighting and exhausted themselves, then the loot would most likely fall into the fisherman’s hands instead. They would get nothing out of it.

It was obvious which outcome was better.

The instant the four stopped fighting each other, the white wolf behind Snow Wolf’s back pounced toward the nearest warriors and swallowed them all in one gulp.

Beheader swung his broken saber repeatedly. The blade could not be seen, but the flashes were everywhere. When the flashes ended, several people’s heads rolled off their shoulders and spilled blood across the snow.

This was why he was called Beheader.

Old Ghost moved like a phantom and passed through multiple people. Everyone he passed through abruptly lost their hearts and fell dead. It was because Old Ghost had stolen and eaten them all.

Child Boss seemed to possess the power to command the elements. The wind and snow howled around him and transformed into all sorts of beasts and birds. They instantly ripped, tore, and devoured the weaker warriors.

The quartet’s unhesitating and brutal show of force instantly intimidated the rest of the warriors.

“The treasure is ours. Get lost unless you have a death wish!” Snow Wolf glanced around with unbridled killing intent. Everyone unfortunate enough to catch his gaze felt chilled to their core.

Some people were intimidated by their show of force. Some also recognized them for who they were. They did not hesitate to turn around and leave.

Some people hesitated and could not come to a decision.

......

“Are you still not going to act?”

At the carriage, Ye Qing and Feng Qingyou were watching the show with interested, casual expressions. They did not think or feel that they were the instigators of these brutal deaths even though they totally were.

“Of course not. These are just the small fries. The big fishes haven’t shown up yet.” Ye Qing said lazily while leaning against the carriage, “Speaking of Cao Cao. Here they come!” The climax was about to begin.

......

“Still not going? Do you really want to die?” Seeing that some people were lingering, Beheader said coldly, “I’m going to count to three. If you don’t leave by then, then you can stay here forever.”

“One.”

“Two.”

Beheader unsheathed his broken saber by half an inch when the word “Two” left his lips. Terrifying saber intent poured out of his sheath like a river.

“Tsk tsk... As expected of the Beheader.”

As he counted to three and prepared to act, a melodious, seductive voice suddenly interrupted his movement.

In fact, everyone present suddenly lost their concentration for an instant. Some of them even cracked open a stiff smile and stiffly turned around like wooden puppets. They dropped to their knees, raised their arms high and kowtowed, chanting, “Greetings, Lady Begonia...”

As soon as they finished, trees burst out of the snow and ice and bloomed white begonia flowers.

The tree itself was crystalline and translucent like ice sculptures. The white begonia was pure and flawless like jadeites as well.

The sudden spread of begonia trees and flowers painted a fantastical scene in what was a barren snow region.

Even the howling Wind Tsunami grew weaker and weaker as if it could not bear to damage the otherworldly begonia trees and flowers. It eventually turned into a harmless breeze.

A breeze was blowing through tens of thousands of begonia trees, and the sea of begonia flowers were whiter and more beautiful than the snow itself.
