Chapter 1704: Blood for Blood

As a large-sized world civilization, the Grand Apocalypse World’s powerhouses possessed genuine combat prowess.

Unlike certain law-wielding creatures from weak medium-sized or low-level planes, who lost their nerve before a battle even began, these natives of the Grand Apocalypse World dared to charge headlong, even when they knew their strength fell short of Sein and his allies.

Leading the charge toward Sein was a Rank Five Grand Apocalypse World creature wielding an energy blade.

After prolonged combat with the Gallant Federation, one would notice that whether it was the federation’s giant mobile suit pilots or the fighters of its vassal civilizations, many wielded technological weapons such as lightsabers and energy blades.

There was a simple reason for this—the lightsabers produced by the Gallant Federation were genuinely easy to wield.

Take the Rank Five razor creature before them as an example. The blades forged by the Grand Apocalypse World did not necessarily offer better value than the lightsabers supplied by the Gallant Federation.

It was much the same as how the foreign deities of the Magus Alliance were all remarkably enthusiastic about acquiring magic artifacts crafted by Magus World mages.

Did those foreign deities truly enjoy handing over money to Magus World mages for no reason?

Of course not. The answer came down to one undeniable fact: quality!

The Magus Civilization’s ability to siphon resources across the alliance through the magicoin system was not without justification.

Some alliance creatures might choose to opt out, but doing so meant their weapons and equipment would inevitably lag behind those of others.

Beyond that, the Magus Civilization had plenty of ways to forcibly pry open markets on allied planes unwilling to cooperate.

But that was a story for another time.

The sudden ring of light aimed at Sein’s face was blocked by the magic shield enveloping his body.

On a battlefield this chaotic, with federal warships firing indiscriminately in every direction, it was no time to rely on raw physical durability.

Long before entering the fray, Sein had already layered his entire body in magic shields.

He also carried numerous disposable defensive magic artifacts, all crafted during his preparations prior to departure.

These disposable artifacts were not particularly impressive in terms of raw defensive power, nor were their materials especially high-grade. Yet in the chaos of battle, they proved exceptionally practical—Sein knew this well from experience.

Moreover, he had prepared a large number of disposable magic bombs. Compared to conventional ranged spells, these bombs were what Sein relied on most once he plunged into the heart of the battlefield.

After the outer magic shield blocked the incoming ring of light, Sein answered the Rank Five Apocalypse World creature before him with dozens of elemental rays unleashed from the Faceless Mask.

In most civilizations, world-class secret treasures remained the exclusive possessions of Rank Six or higher beings.

This Rank Five Apocalypse World creature clearly possessed no such treasure, and under Sein’s rapid barrage of powerful attacks unleashed in a single instant, it quickly found itself on the back foot.

A similar situation unfolded on either flank. Darian and Karl, though already significantly drained, were able to swiftly repel their opponents thanks to the sustained fire support provided by the eight-winged angel, Fermera.

Sein cast a glance toward Grandmaster Feylis and gauged the distance between them.

With no time for further deliberation, he turned to Fermera at his side and said, “Go assist my grandmaster first. Use the item I entrusted to you earlier.”

Fermera nodded without hesitation. Her eight metallic wings flared violently as she shot toward the battlefield where Feylis and Seiron were locked in combat.

The origin law powers wielded by Seiron, the mightiest being of Arid Expanse World, likely leaned toward geo, sand, or storm elements.

At the center of the subspace battlefield, for example, Seiron had transformed into a deep gray, oppressive storm, facing off against the sea of fire embodied by Feylis.

Beyond these elemental forces, Sein also sensed profound divine factors such as

decay

,

barrenness

, and

ferocity

.

This opponent’s combat power was truly formidable. Even observing from a distance, Sein judged Seiron’s strength to far exceed Fermera’s.

Fermera was likely weaker than Grandmaster Feylis.

Her participation would not overwhelm Seiron, but it would significantly ease the pressure on Feylis.

These were all the Rank Six combatants present on this subspace battlefield.

The addition or loss of even a single Rank Six fighter could dramatically alter the strategic balance between the two sides’ high-ranking forces.

Because of this, Sein’s contribution to the subspace war was immense.

Beyond the Eiyurant Papillon Civilization’s technology he had recovered, the successful defection of Fermera alone warranted substantial rewards from the Magus Civilization.

When Fermera rushed to Feylis’ aid, no one could have anticipated that, beyond her own combat strength, she also carried another hidden trump card—a super bomb.

The last being to suffer grievous injuries from Sein’s magic bombs had been Fermera herself. Now, she clearly intended to inflict that same agony on others.

When Fermera reached Feylis’ position, the angel robot demonstrated a high degree of tactical intelligence. She avoided reckless charges and refrained from revealing her trump card too early.

That was the fundamental difference between sentient and non-sentient beings.

Back when Sein first met Fermera, he had thought she was a blockhead, stubbornly pursuing him despite being badly injured by a super bomb.

But how quickly things changed. That former blockhead now knew how to play mind games.

As she joined the Rank Six battle, six of Fermera’s metallic wings erupted in blinding golden radiance.

Amidst the clash of blazing seas and desert storms, Fermera herself became a streak of light.

The lightsaber in her grasp surged to dozens of times its original size the moment it activated.

The massive blade, capable of tearing through space itself, slashed viciously toward Seiron’s head.

Yet in the face of Fermera’s fully charged strike, Seiron merely tilted his head slightly aside.

His world-class Wasteland Armor was covered in scratches, each one a mark of his countless battles.

CLANG!

A violent shockwave rippled outward as Seiron suddenly raised his Lightning Ax. Beneath his helmet, his expression turned icy.

Terrifying arcs of thunder crackled and danced along the blade of his ax.

Under normal circumstances, Fermera should have retreated at this point.

Yet when confronted with Seiron’s charged counterattack, she did not retreat. She lunged straight toward Seiron’s flank again, like a robot compelled to execute a command.

Seeing this, Seiron let out a cold snort. The law energy within his Lightning Ax had already reached its peak.

Feylis also shot a surprised glance at the Rank Six robot that had just entered the battle and was now behaving in such an odd manner.

Of course, she was not about to stand by while Seiron battered the eight-winged angel before her eyes.

The elemental fluctuations from her magic scepter surged to astonishing levels. A beam of deep green flame erupted an instant later, targeting Seiron’s right arm in an effort to halt his relentless assault on the eight-winged angel closing in.

While most eyes were fixed on the Lightning Ax in Seiron’s right hand and on Feylis’ magic scepter, only Sein caught the faint yellow glow beginning to flicker along Fermera’s left arm.
