Three furious roars erupted from within the city lord’s mansion. A heartbeat later, three figures surged skyward, auras blazing, their gazes as sharp as knives. They were the remaining guardian deities: Water, Fire, and Wood.

Behind them came the remaining Nine Great Generals, followed by a tide of minions, all radiating killing intent so intense it shook both heaven and earth.

They hadn’t taken the troublemaker seriously before. They had assumed that with the Earth Guardian Deity and several of the Nine Great Generals stepping in, even a fifth-stage half-immortal could be crushed.

Unexpectedly, Chen Fan had overpowered the Earth Guardian Deity and the others immediately, cutting them down like vegetables. He even killed a fifth-stage half-immortal with a single punch. Only now did they realize the seriousness of the situation.

“Chen Fan, how dare you barge into the Hua Alliance and slaughter our people. Today, you die!”

The Fire Guardian Deity, leader of the Four Guardian Deities, was at the peak of the fifth-stage half-immortal realm, just a step away from the sixth stage. Fury warped his face like a volcano ready to blow. He wanted Chen Fan torn to pieces.

“Hahahaha! Die? From you lot? Where’s Qin Chuan? Too scared to show himself? Hiding like a tortoise?” Chen Fan laughed out loud, not taking these people seriously at all.

The only person who could pose a bit of a threat to Chen Fan was the alliance leader, Qin Chuan. As for the others, whether it was the Four Guardian Deities or the Nine Great Generals, they were mere cannon fodder.

Chen Fan scanned the crowd and confirmed what he already suspected: Qin Chuan was nowhere to be seen.

“What arrogance!” Fire Guardian Deity shouted. A sea of fire erupted behind him, turning his aura extremely terrifying. He said with overflowing killing intent, “The alliance leader doesn’t have to make a move. We can take your life ourselves! You damned bastard, we didn’t mobilize our full force to look for you, but you sent yourselves to our doorsteps. Very well, stay here forever!”

Fire Guardian Deity struck. A massive hand lunged; the fire wave surged, intent on swallowing Chen Fan. He lived up to his title; he outclassed the Earth Guardian Deity by more than double.

The Fire Guardian Deity’s pupils pinched tight, for the first time, a grave doubt flickering across his face. He finally understood why the Earth Guardian Deity fell so quickly.

Trading blows with Chen Fan had given him a sense of Chen Fan’s true strength. Still, the Fire Guardian Deity was not afraid.

This was his turf. The Hua Alliance’s headquarters. Odds were in his favor. Chen Fan couldn’t possibly beat them all, not here.

“Attack together, kill him!” he ordered. Pride didn’t matter when lives were at stake.

The other guardian deities and dozens of warriors answered. Ten half-immortals and scores of Void Immortals unleashed a torrent of energy meant to wipe Chen Fan from the sky.

Swish, swish, swish.

Chen Fan didn’t dodge at all. He lunged toward them like a roc, and his icy voice resounded, “If Qin Chuan won’t show, I’ll make him. Today you die. The Hua Alliance ends here.”

He tore through the sky in an instant like a stream of flickering light. Sword qi poured from every pore, coalescing into a massive blade above him. It ripped at the surrounding primeval qi and spun into a vortex.

Every pore of his was spewing sword qi, forming a huge sword of qi above him. The sword qi shot skyward, rousing the endless primeval qi in the surroundings, which surged together into a terrifying vortex.

Clang!

The huge sword of qi struck out. Over a thousand feet of terrifying sword qi pressed down, crushing the void and surging towards the torrent.

Rumble!

The sword qi and the torrent of martial arts collided violently, causing a huge explosion that annihilated the air. Endless, primeval qi boiled over and collapsed, as if the world were ending.

Whoosh!

Waves of force radiated outward, ring after ring. For a beat, neither side had the upper hand.

“What? How is this possible?”

“Am I seeing things? He blocked all of our attacks by himself!”

“This is impossible, we have about ten half-immortals, and three of them are at the fifth stage. Even a sixth-stage half-immortal would be heavily injured if they faced our attacks. He’s only in the late-stage Void Immortal level! How could he be this powerful?”

All of a sudden, the Hua Alliance’s members were dumbfounded, their very souls trembling. The alliance members erupted into chaos.

Their expressions changed completely, and not even the three guardian deities were an exception.

They had overestimated themselves and still managed to underestimate him. Suddenly, the certainty in their eyes cracked.
