Chapter 611.1: We Will Scatter All Impurities On This Land
“No retreat! Hold them back!”
“Those two-legged livestock! Weak and flimsy! One punch... Drop them! Do you lose to livestock?”
At the main entrance of the Champion Biopharmaceutical Research Institute, a three meter tall Mutant Human commander bellowed in fury, like a bristling guard dog, driving his underlings forward.
His name was Hogg, a warrior personally named by Gaen, and the most loyal and ferocious under his command.
In the Qi Tribe, where strength ruled, Gaen was grooming him as heir to become the next chief. For that reason, Hogg had been entrusted with guarding their final base.
It was the bond tying the Qi Tribe to the Torch Church, and also the center of their mechanical augments.
Gaen had ordered him to lead over 1,000 soldiers and hold it at all costs.
He had sworn to Gaen solemnly that he would never let the institute fall into New Alliance hands!
If they could just hold for two more weeks... The Kingdom of Heaven would remain forever on this land!
Hogg clenched his teeth and roared. “... Charge them! Eat their flesh, drink their blood, grind them into mince meat! Make them into sofas!”
His booming voice lit a fire in many of the Mutant Human soldiers, and countless green-skinned beasts howled as they rushed forward.
Yet before the storm of the New Alliance’s assault, all resistance was utterly futile.
The front gate had become a bloody meat grinder, with lives shredded by the second.
Under the cover of armored vehicles, the New Alliance’s advance was like an unstoppable spear, tearing apart the defenders’ line with ease.
A Chimera rumbled up the steps, smashed down a wall into the hall, and its dark cannon barrels unleashed a storm of fire.
Sandbags piled in corridors and stairwells were blasted aside, along with the Mutant Humans crouched behind, chewed into paste by tracers as thick as pythons.
Right behind them surged the chainsaw-wielding brutes of the New Alliance.
The howling blades were like the fangs of rabid hounds, their green paint long dyed red with gore.
They looked like demons straight out of hell.
As their gazes met the bloodthirsty steel giants, green faces instantly twisted with terror, rifles and shotguns trembling in their hands.
For a moment, they couldn’t tell, who were the real beasts?
“Haha! Madness! Total madness!!”
Slashing his way into the mutant lines, Midnight Pubg swung his chainsaw, eyes bloodshot with frenzy.
His new steel body suited him perfectly!
The only flaw was the locked genetic sequence ranks and XP gain, sometimes he couldn’t stop himself once he went berserk either... but that was a small matter.
This was a war between humans and Mutant Humans.
It was a war of civilization against savagery.
There would be no prisoners, no mercy!
Watching the Jungle Corps carve the Mutant Humans to pieces, players from the Skeleton Corps found themselves without even the chance to act, lowering their weapons.
It wasn’t just that they held back, they couldn’t even fire.
In the tight corridors, just Midnight Pubg alone blocked two-thirds of the way. With heavy exoskeletons filling the rest, firing risked hitting allies more than enemies.
Leaning on a Chimera, Irene smirked at the chainsaw-wielding beast up front.

“The fellow has gone berserk again.”
Through their shared communication channel, Elf Wang jeered. “What a psycho.”
“Haha.”
“Let him run wild...” Escaping Mole chuckled from the turret hatch. “It’s not like he’s normal most of the time anyway.”
The battle was going smoothly.
It was going so smoothly, it surprised him.
Before, the Mutant Humans had relied on vehicles and surprise monster Mutant Humans to fight toe-to-toe with the New Alliance. But with their vehicles destroyed by Chimeras and their enhanced beasts picked off, the rest couldn’t mount a proper defense.
In truth, they had little left to resist, their strength already bled dry in earlier waves, while the New Alliance’s numbers seemed endless.
Suddenly remembering a promise on the forum, Irene glanced at Elf Wang.
“Didn’t we promise Mosquito we would help find his lost implant?”
“After the fight.”
“Hopefully it’s done before dark.”
“Dark?” Elf Wang smirked. “These beasts won’t last till noon.”
Just then, a brute in an Iron Wall exoskeleton walked over, flipping open his visor.
Seeing Irene and Elf Wang lounging idle, Piltover Paratrooper waved. “Hey, you free?”
Irene grinned. “What’s up, need help?”
Piltover Paratrooper nodded helplessly. “The elevator to the underground labs got blown up by those beasts. Looks like they’re set on fighting to the last. We’re pushing through the fire escape, but it’s too narrow, our guys are stuck.”
The underground labs were built like a nuclear bunker. Fire exits and lifts didn’t connect to the surface building, entry had to be through the lobby.
The Jungle Corps had secured the upper floors, slaughtering the remaining Mutant Humans floor by floor. But the underground push was less smooth.
The Mutant Humans had destroyed the elevators and freight lifts, then fortified the lone fire passage with traps and cover.
Hearing some players were stuck, Elf Wang burst out laughing. “Damn, who’s so useless?”
Piltover Paratrooper whispered, “Prone Model told me not to tell anyone.”
“
Pfftttt...
”
“HAHAHAHA!”
Watching Irene and Elf Wang doubled over laughing, Escaping Mole coughed and cut in. “Go give them a hand.”
Irene gave an OK sign and reloaded his rifle with a smile. “Alright!”
...
At the power room entrance of the underground lab, Hogg stood with his most loyal men.
Hearing the gunfire and explosions closing in, fear finally showed on his scarred green face.
He wasn’t afraid of dying.
He was afraid that no hope remained.
Was that the end of their tribe?
Even the Qi Tribe’s second-strongest warrior was thinking that way. The rest were even worse and their morale hit rock bottom.
Though their chief forbade chatter, Mutant Humans cowering behind cover whispered anyway. “What about our allies...”
“Word is they attacked the New Alliance last night, that thunder we heard was them.”
“They made quite the racket.”
“Did they win?”
“Do you need to ask? The airship’s still there.”
“They say the chief was with them!”
“Could he already be...”
At the rising murmurs, Hogg snapped, bellowing in rage. “Shut up! Cowards! The chief is alive and well! He doesn’t need your concern! Eyes on your sectors, anyone gossiping about Chief Gaen again, I’ll tear out your tongue!”
The green-skins fell silent and they cowed with fear. Though he silenced them, he couldn’t stop their thoughts.
At that moment, even pigs could guess their leader was dead and their allies had abandoned them.
They were marching to their deaths.
This resistance was meaningless!
Faces grew ever more desperate.
Suddenly, from the fire passage came a deafening blast.
Gunfire rattled, then came the gnashing of chainsaws and shrill screams.
Their hearts clenched and their eyes went wide with terror.
Hogg hefted his iron musket, as thick as his fist, chambered a round with a clack to steady himself. “Prepare to fight!”
Hearing his roar, the Mutant Humans bared their teeth and howled in forced courage.
“Ohhhhhh!”
...
