Chapter 1588: Toying With Time
“Did I say you can leave?”
The Chief Libationist let out a cold chuckle and tightened his grip. Just like that, he pulled the illusory Tyrant Extinction out of the unknown space.
The next moment, the Chief Libationist bent his fingers and flicked Tyrant Extinction in the forehead.
The first flick popped everything Tyrant Extinction had summoned like a bubble.
The second flick stripped him of all the tattoos on his body.
And the third flick caused his body to crumble inch by inch like sand.
In just three finger flicks, the Chief Libationist had grievously injured one of the Six Ghosts and Gods of Fengdu, the lord of the Tyrant Extinction Abode of Absolute Yin.
But of course, the Chief Libationist wasn’t able to kill him. He was one of the Six Ghosts and Gods after all. He could not be killed so easily.
Whoosh!
It sounded like this whole sequence was taking a long time, but in reality it had happened in an instant. By the time the other five ghosts and gods realized what happened, Tyrant Extinction had already suffered a huge blow.
Naturally, they were enraged.
“You are courting death!” Grand Fiend, lord of the Grand Fiend Abode of Forgiveness, let out an angry roar and transformed into a three-thousand-meter tall bone giant. He swept his spear horizontally and shattered everything in front of him like the Nether was a mirror.
It was a strike of impossible strength. Grand Fiend was a ghost and god who proved his way via strength, and fiendish power as his edge. Therefore, this spear was impossibly heavy and was called “Sweeping The Nether”.
“Well met!” Spine like a dragon and arm like a spear, the Chief Libationist met the attack head on with his own hand.
BANG!
The Chief Libationist was pushed back three kilometers in an instant, and five of his fingers were broken. Grand Fiend fared worse, however. His bone spear was shattered, and he could not stop being pushed back.
“Hahaha! Now this is what I call a clash!” The Chief Libationist barked out in laughter before charging toward Grand Fiend.
He was halfway there when flower petals landed on his shoulders.
Each petal was a world on its own. Naturally, they were unbelievably heavy.
The sudden burden caused the Chief Libationist to abruptly change course and fall straight toward the ground.
At the same time, Bright Star brought his golden truncheons down like he would turn the entire Nether upside down. Yin soldiers stood in formation, and yin officers charged toward the Chief Libationist. It looked quite formidable.
Illuminating Sin swung his burning saber. Inside the sea of sinfire, 99,999 headless evil ghosts holding their heads in their arms screamed for all sin to be slain.
The recovered Grand Fiend thrust his spear forward with enough strength to penetrate the nine heavens and the Nether. Yin fire of bones boiled violently and threatened to freeze all souls into ice.
“Haaaaap!”
In response, the Chief Libationist caught himself and sucked in a deep breath. For a moment, the wind blew like a tornado.
It wasn’t until his stomach resembled that of a lady who was ten months pregnant before he expelled all of the air.
Whoosh!
If his inhale resembled a tornado, then his exhale resembled a thunderstorm in spring.
Immense energy and power destroyed all of the petals that were worlds, causing them to wither into nothing.
“Hmph!”
When the petals withered, Cojoined, lord of the Daring Charge Abode of The Cojoined, let out a muffled groan atop her lotus throne. She looked like she might collapse sideways.
Speaking of which, the thirty three-colored lotus throne had lost their petals and become completely barren as well.
At the same time, the Chief Libationist let out a refreshing laugh. It was such a laugh that immense currents of air bowled over the yin soldiers and crushed them.
His left index and middle fingers pressed together like a sword, he fired off a beam of sword qi that severed the sinfire and beheaded Illuminating Sin once more.
Finally, he raised his right fist high up in the air—his fist intent shaking the nine firmaments as he did this—and shattered both the yin fire of bones and the bone spear. His fist also punched right through Grand Fiend’s body.
One man, one voice, one laugh, one sword, and one fist. That was all he needed to grievously injure four of the six ghosts and gods of Fengdu. Just how powerful and dominant he was? “Hahaha... Six Ghosts and Gods my ass! That’s all you amount to!” The Chief Libationist laughed loudly and without restraint.
“No one with lasting renown is a dud. You deserve your reputation, Chief Libationist.” It was at this moment an ephemeral, seemingly non-existent voice rang, “But you haven’t forgotten about me, have you?”
“Sect Spirit?”
The Chief Libationist followed the voice and saw Sect Spirit, lord of the Sect Spirit Abode of Seven Wrongs. He was still half-lying on top of his yin dragon.
In fact, the Chief Libationist had forgotten about him. It wasn’t because he was careless either. For whatever reason, he had neglected, no, forgotten about the man’s existence until he spoke up and reminded him of it.
Sect Spirit was the most mysterious and lowkey ghost and god of the Six Ghosts and Gods of Fengdu. No one knew about their background, and no one had ever seen him fight. Therefore, no one knew exactly how powerful he was or what kind of tricks he had up his sleeves.

Now, the Chief Libationist bore witnessto it.
A sundial appeared in Sect Spirit’s hands.
The sundial looked like he was forged from some sort of limestone. It was covered in spotty-looking numbers, characters, and scars of time. It looked old and heavy, ancient and mysterious.
The Chief Libationist immediately felt a sense of unease when he saw the sundial. So, he took one step forward, appeared in front of Sect Spirit, and threw out a punch.
If one feels uneasy, then they should slay their heart demon to end the feeling.
Sect Spirit’s response toward the punch was to turn his sundial.
The next moment, the Chief Libationist retreated step by step until he was exactly back at his original position. It was as if he never moved; as if time itself had been reversed.
“I know I’m no match for you, so I shan’t shame myself.”
Sect Spirit smiled and tapped a certain point on the sundial. The next second, Tyrant Extinction, Grand Fiend, Illuminating Sin, Bright Star, and Cojoined’s injuries all vanished like they never were. Their auras had returned to peak condition as well.
Technically, their injuries hadn’t disappeared. It was just that Sect Spirit had reset their time to a point where they weren’t injured with his Magia.
Of course, the Chief Libationist’s condition did not change.
The power of time? This isn’t good.
The Chief Libationist’s expression turned serious. It was clear that Sect Spirit’s Magia and power involved the power of time. Judging from how he reset his fellow ghosts and gods back to peak condition, he could even reverse and manipulate time to a certain extent. As long as Sect Spirit was still alive, no matter how much his fellow ghosts and gods exhausted and injured themselves, he could always reset back to peak condition. They would always be able to fight him at their peak, but he would only grow weaker over time.
At this rate, he was going to lose a battle of attrition. There were no two ways about it.
Obviously, there was no way Sect Spirit could use this Magia forever. As powerful as a Magia that controlled time was, it must have severe limitations and even greater expenditure.
The problem was that he could not win even if Sect Spirit could do this for only another two or three times.
He might be whooping Tyrant Extinction, Grand Fiend, Illuminating Sin, Bright Star, and Cojoined’s ass like a dad would whoop his son’s, but the thing was, they weren’t actually his sons. They were powerful ghosts and gods who had lived for untold millennia, and they were more than willing to retaliate with lethal force. Fighting them was both difficult and tiring.
As if that wasn’t enough, only his mind was present at this place, not his true body. He was unable to unleash his full power.
Therefore, he could defeat them one time with some effort, and two times with a lot of energy. But three times? Four times? At some point, he could only run away.
No matter how he looked at it, he was slated for defeat.
He didn’t want to lose, however. He couldn’t afford to lose either. So, what should he do to ensure victory?
The Chief Libationist turned his gaze on Sect Spirit. Right now, he could only try and kill Sect Spirit first and end the threat posed by his Magia.
Only then did he stand a chance against the other ghosts and gods.
