Chapter 1763: A Troubled Heart (III)

The Dragon master gently laughed dismissively at Red Moon’s threats; he wasn’t the least bit concerned.

After you guys go at it with New Martial, another group of exalted emperors will be dead. There are already many seventh ranks dead and you yourself have become a stray dog. Once a few more eighth ranks fall... how will Dragon Region be afraid of you then?

Red Moon, you think too simply in trying to goad me to action.

Not to mention, if I take part and bring my world to the battlefield, New Martial is sure to view me as the priority target!

The Dragon master was no fool. With New Martial’s personality, they would think he was too big a threat if he joined the fray. Would they give up the fight without beating him to death first?

You’re free and easy, Red Moon, being a wandering cultivator. You can just run away if all goes south. If there is no place for you among the four regions, then you can find a new place in the outside world. It’s not hard for you to endure the tribulations at the chaos pillars.

But for those of us with entrenched operations and a grand enterprise in the four regions, can we run off just like that?

Despite the Dragon master’s lack of interest, Red Moon didn’t grow irritated.

“If the issue of the four regions isn’t resolved and we dissolve into general mayhem... someone might think of colluding with outside exalted emperors!” Red Moon laughed in a meaningful way. “We’re all familiar with each other in the four regions. It’s best if we can take care of our problems ourselves. If we force someone’s hand and they bring in a large number of outsiders... there might be some among them who can’t bear the sight of dragons enslaving multitudes of humans!

“Keep in mind that humanity also dominates the outside world. It’s one thing in the four regions where we keep to ourselves, but if those from outside come... they might try to upset the balance. They’ll just run for it if they fail since this isn’t their home!”

Powerhouses of the four regions were based in the area, so no one would truly take the risk of setting themselves against Dragon Region. If they failed, their home would be razed down to the last blade of grass!

But if outsiders came and decided to do something about the untold number of human slaves, they could just leave if their plans failed. As strong as the Dragon master was, would he chase them past the chaos pillars and into their homes?

The Dragon master frowned, taking a deep look at Red Moon. “The ‘someone’ you speak of is yourself, isn’t it? It looks like you’ve lost all inhibitions after losing your world. Is this what’s on your mind, Red Moon?”

Killing intent began to brew in the world master’s eyes!

This guy didn’t even have a home anymore. If he got it in his mind to get up to no good in Dragon Region, then run when it all failed, then they would be in trouble indeed.

“How would I ever?” smiled the Red Moon master. “I think it’s grand to be a wandering cultivator. I’m completely carefree and have no worries at all. My world was a burden on me before, causing me to be targeted on multiple occasions. But now, I’m a free man!

“So I would hardly have that kind of idea in mind. I’m talking about Blazing Sun and Skycloud. Blazing Sun is surrounded by danger, but no one’s stretching out a hand to help him. Do you think he’ll permit his world to be destroyed, like me, when push comes to shove?”

The Dragon master raised a brow. That was true. It wouldn’t be ideal for outsiders to become involved in their conflict.

Everyone knew each other within the four regions, as well as the location of their respective homes. New threats would be upon them if outsiders were present, not to mention that chaos beasts were sources of walking treasures in the eyes of many.

That applied to monster spirits as well.

This was when the Dragon master finally seriously considered Red Moon’s words.

“And if New Martial really does take Blazing Sun, propelling themselves into an eighth rank world,” continued Red Moon. “That will facilitate the Human King and Ash Emperor’s simultaneous rise to eighth rank.

“If they work in tandem and can borrow strength from each other, might they... conquer the four regions? Will Dragon Region be able to withstand them then?

“As for the Dragon master’s idea of keeping to your own lane... Will they care then if you’ve offended them or not?” Red Moon chuckled softly. “The Human King is tyrannical and unrestrained. Your kind enslaves and slaughters humans. It’s one thing when he’s unaware of that, but when he sees the results of your actions, do you think that self-styled king of humanity will let you off the hook for that?”

The Dragon master stared coldly at the other.

“I’m just giving you a reminder, of course.” Red Moon laughed again. “New Martial is too young and youngsters are full of fire and spirit! We’re used to the sight and all of this, but they aren’t. See for yourself if the Human King will sit idly by when he sees countless humans dying and being turned into livestock!”

Will he stick his nose into another’s affairs?

It would be hard to say for others, but with the Human King’s sheer arrogance and lording it over everything in the chaos, would he really let it slide once he learned of the situation at Dragon Region?

Me killing people is

me

killing people! I don’t give the same permission for monster spirits to kill and enslave humanity.

The Human King was accustomed to putting himself in the shoes of others. This could be seen from his personality.

“Red Moon, it looks like you’ve become a smooth talker ever since losing your world,” sneered the Dragon master after he flicked a glance at the man. “You’re completely without reservation and dare think of the wildest ideas.”

Red Moon smiled without a word.

This is my current situation, what else would I want other than revenge? You guys have your concerns and reservations, I don’t! I don’t even have a dao universe anymore!

New Martial must be toppled, but the key figure of the Silver Moon king needs to die even more so! He needs to die without a complete corpse to his name!

New Martial was the main culprit, but the Silver Moon king was a key player. He’d barged into Red Moon major world, trespassed in the dao universe, dismantled the dao of desire! He was the most damnable existence to walk the earth and the Red Moon master’s hatred of the young man ran bone deep.

He deconstructed the source of my dao origin! That’s not supposed to happen!

“Oh, right, there’s another thing,” said Red Moon when he thought of the Silver Moon king. “Apparently Silver Moon has retreated from Skyward. Since they’d convened with New Martial, they should’ve traveled with the Sword Sovereign’s group.

“But that is not the case now! Gathering with Light is a good option if they stay in Skyward Region. Red Moon Region is currently a shell of its former self. Do you think that guy will come to Dragon Region?”

“Meh.” The Dragon master didn’t care at all. So what if the Silver Moon king came here? It didn’t matter as long as New Martial wasn’t here!

Even though the Silver Moon king was strong enough as a fifth rank to fight a seventh rank, so what? Red Moon wasn’t telling him to be wary of a mid rank, was he? Now that was ludicrous!

“Don’t underestimate the Silver Moon king!” Red Moon said indifferently. “He’s far from what meets the eye. Is it an easy feat for a fifth rank to fight a seventh rank? How long did the Human King take to come into his own? How long do you think the Silver Moon king will take?”

“Mmhmm, I hear what you’re saying,” the Dragon master answered in a distracted manner. Again, so what?

Red Moon didn’t say anything else—he couldn’t be bothered to. It was very possible that Silver Moon had come to the region, but Dragon Region was so enormous. This wasn’t his own territory either, so he couldn’t be bothered with anything of this.

He wasn’t going to poke around and make an investigation. There might be open hostilities between him and the Dragon master if he did so!

It was best if the Dragon master came off a bit worse for the wear. That way, he would take proactive action against Silver Moon.

Damn Silver Moon!

Red Moon also knew that he needed to proceed slowly, so he was in no hurry. At the moment, he wanted nothing more than for other people to suffer. He’d suffered the most recently, so it would do his wretched heart plenty of good to see the same misery visit others!

......

As the Red Moon and Dragon masters conversed.

On the fringes of Dragon Region, in a minor world.

A man and a woman were building their own kingdom. Not much time had elapsed, but both of them had once ruled their own kingdoms, so they were old hats at this business. They’d discovered that humans here were so easy to fool!

The locals treated them as real gods and were nearly burst into tears with gratitude after receiving a tiny amount of good treatment!

This was completely unprecedented to the former queen of Silver Moon’s west. It was absolutely incredible! The people here were so easily convinced—ahem, tame. It was even easier than when she ruled over her Divine Nation!

And the key was, they responded with real faith!

She’d collected hundreds of millions of followers in a few short months, with faith that felt purer than what she’d ruled over in Divine Nation. It was utterly astonishing!

One had to know that the gods had operated in Divine Nation for multiple generations before faith formed. But here, she simply needed to kill one monster spirit to garner fervent, rabid gratefulness and appreciation. Teaching them a random dao method inspired the humans to kowtow with violent zeal and pledge their lives to her...

This was a sacred land for the dao of faith!

She couldn’t believe it! Was there no one that practiced the dao of faith in the chaos?

If she and the Great Li king could fully take this world, she felt that they would be able to verify their dao just through faith alone! If they could take another world or two, then second and third rank would easily be within reach!

If they could continue this rampage... then what was Li Hao worth?

What rank was Li Hao right now?

Perhaps she and the Great Li king could quickly become mid or even high ranks! That would be amazing!

The Great Li king, on the other hand, felt a bit unsure. A headache was settling in after he made a few arrangements. He looked at the queen in a lost manner when he saw how delighted she was. “I’m getting afraid!”

“Why is that?”

“It’s too easy and too... crazy!” he sighed. “I feel that I’m about to verify my dao as an exalted emperor through the dao of being an emperor! The citizens of Great Li didn’t revere and worship me this much when I ruled Great Li well. But here, people even treat my farts as holy. Aren’t you afraid?”

“Afraid of what?” A mad light danced in the queen’s eyes. “Those who are bold die of gluttony and those who are cowardly die of starvation! I know there must be something wrong here, and it probably has to do with that Dragon master, but becoming exalted emperors is the limit of what we could do if we stayed in Skyward.

“Here though... have you realized? It’s so easy for us to become exalted emperors! Faith continues to grow at a prodigious pace—I think we can even easily become fourth ranks or stronger!

“You and I don’t interfere with each other. You can walk your path of the people and I’ll walk my path of divinity. Both of us might be able to surpass Li Hao!”

They’d been crushed underfoot too strongly in Silver Moon! It was only after they left that they discovered how tall the skies were. As for danger, what was that?

Even if this was a minor world and even though its exalted emperor ruler was searching for them, she wasn’t afraid! They could just go out guns a-blazin’ if it came down to it!
