Chapter 1760: Farewell (III)

Blazing Sun Region.

Unrest rocked the region. Large numbers of worlds began migrating, echoing a scene that’d once taken place in Red Moon Region.

New Martial had been very active recently. The worlds that moved acted differently from the ones that’d moved to Red Moon Region. Instead of gathering together, they avoided Blazing Sun major world.

The last set of major worlds to gather together had also gone down together. Hence, the seventh rank masters of Blazing Sun Region worlds had a different idea in mind. New Martial may have its eyes set on Blazing Sun major world, but it might take a quick detour to collect other targets.

After some discussion, the seventh rank masters of the worlds decided to congregate in a spot further away from Blazing Sun.

Eight major worlds and a dozen mid worlds gathered in a new location. They assembled neatly side by side, another lesson they’d learned from Red Moon Region. The worlds in Red Moon Region had settled down a little far from each other, making it impossible to arrive in time to render aid.

Blazing Sun major world was now isolated in the center of the region. It wasn’t that there were no worlds around it, there were just no strong worlds. The minor worlds were unable to move, so they could only remain in place and pray that they didn’t catch New Martial’s eye.

Blazing Sun major world.

Qi of utmost yang suffused the environment. The Blazing Sun master stood as if a giant sun, his loose hair emanating radiance. He wasn’t as calm as he appeared, however. He was also rueing his fate.

An eighth rank world was strong, but New Martial was no weakling. They had a lot of exalted emperors and many seventh ranks under their command. The joint effort of the Human King and Ash Emperor could absolutely withstand an eighth rank.

New Martial exalted emperors were also valiant and unafraid of death. If the two worlds really met in battle, Blazing Sun might not win. At the same time, the Blazing Sun master was not afraid of an offensive. He occupied home territory, after all.

However, undesirable news came at this time.

“The Silver Moon king left Skyward Region ahead of time,” said the Blazing Sun master. “I don’t care where he’s gone. I’m more concerned that the Sword Sovereign and Earth Dweller King are about to return!”

Gaining two seventh ranks at once meant that New Martial’s strength would have drastically increased once more!

“In addition, Fog Mountain and Orchid Forest might still be around. They might follow the Sword Sovereign and Earth Dweller King! That will mean four hostile seventh ranks incoming. This is an enormous threat to our region!”

The group of exalted emperors listening beneath the world master was frowning ferociously. Who would’ve thought that New Martial would quickly shake off Red Moon’s restraints and even conquer their arch nemesis?

“My liege, if New Martial seeks to devour Blazing Sun and ascend into eighth rank... they will be a threat to all four regions once they succeed! Is there no response from Skycloud, Red Moon, and Dragon?”

“Skycloud is willing to reinforce us, but his thoughts are that it’s better to eliminate Light first,” frowned the Blazing Sun master. “Otherwise, if Light attacks his home when he comes... that would be enormous trouble as well.”

He could understand that. Meanwhile, Red Moon was going to personally visit Dragon Region to convince the Dragon master. He sought to have the Dragon master move his world and fight with them.

The bad news was... the Dragon master might not come.

For the moment, this was a war between humans. New Martial had not entered Dragon Region, so it was the safest out of the four regions. The Dragon master might even wish to sit on the sidelines and watch two tigers fight it out. He would refuse an alliance so that he could swoop in once both sides were injured.

“Then why don’t we... seek help from another source?” said a seventh rank.

Another source?

Blazing Sun Region was situated in the west, Red Moon and the rest could not be counted on. If they were to look elsewhere for help... they had to go even further west. They needed to go beyond the four regions.

A stern look entered the Blazing Sun master’s eyes. “Do you mean... even further west?” he asked slowly after a while.

“Yes!” The seventh rank knew what concerns were running through his master’s mind. “Dao master, New Martial has become a grave threat!”

“I know, but... there are massive numbers of chaos pillars around the four regions!” replied the Blazing Sun master. “They form a unique forbidden zone that’s filled with chaos tribulations! It’s very easy to lose one’s sense of direction and be trapped there. The chaos tribulations might annihilate us!

“This is all without guarantee of making it out. Even if we do, the powerhouses around the four regions might not be willing to come inside to help us...”

“Skyward!” intoned the seventh rank. “Although we haven't had many dealings with the powerhouses outside the four regions, there were records of lucky travelers to and fro in the early days. A ninth rank major world is a premier existence even outside the four regions.

“No matter what, those from outside the four regions have rarely heard of a ninth rank major world! We just need to tell them that Skyward is about to revitalize. A seventh rank might hesitate, but an eighth rank will do exactly the opposite. They’ll want a share of the spoils so that they can enter ninth rank!”

Ninth rank was a true overlord of the chaos. The universe outside the four regions wasn’t completely unknown. As dangerous as the chaos pillars were, some fortuitous souls could endure the chaos tribulation to travel into or out of the four regions.

In the past, the eighth ranks of the four regions had always presented a united front to the outside. Skyward belonged to the four regions, so it had nothing to do with outsiders even if it awakened again.

Those outside might have certain plans in mind, but the thought of the chaos tribulations and having to undertake any operations alone always deterred them. A large-scale offensive was impossible, so anyone who entered the four regions by themselves might be mobbed by the heavyweights of the four regions.

This was why premier heavyweights rarely entered the four regions, despite some interaction taking place over the years. In the same vein, the apex powerhouses of the four regions rarely ventured out. They could not take their worlds with them, so they could just as easily be torn apart by the heavyweights outside!

“Why do you wish to seek help from the outside world?” The Blazing Sun master looked at the speaker.

“An exalted emperor from the outside world arrived at the pillars a while ago,”said the speaker. “I happened to be nearby and came in contact with him. A new ninth rank may have been born in a region even further away outside. They seem to be marching in all directions, looking to conquer the chaos!

“Not many details are known about that one, but it’s said that many seventh and eighth ranks have gathered together outside the four regions. Some of them have even mentioned Skyward!

“So even if we don’t go to them, they might come to us. In that case, my thoughts are to take advantage of this temporary lull in attention to come to an agreement with those external powerhouses!”

First mover advantage! Blazing Sun was a premier faction among the four regions, after all.

The Blazing Sun master, however, frowned. “So a ninth rank has been born outside? The flow of information has become stagnant for the four regions. But it would be nothing but poppycock for a ninth rank to conquer the chaos universe!

“The Skyward master was incredibly powerful back in the day, yet he could not unite the chaos. How is a newly born ninth rank this arrogant?” Despite his lack of knowledge, he didn’t speak further on it. “Skyward is the greatest wealth of the four regions. It now seems that its revitalization is close at hand!”

Clearly, he was reluctant to entertain the idea of inviting external powerhouses inside for the moment.

“Dao master, New Martial has their eyes on us, but Red Moon, Skycloud, Light, and Dragon drag their heels in coming to our aid,” said the other exalted emperor. “Perhaps they hope that we’ll be at each other’s throats!

“If we’re bogged down by New Martial, we won’t be able to throw our hat in the ring even if Skyward really does revitalize. In that case, why not muddy the waters?

“We are a local faction of note, after all. External exalted emperors cannot bring their worlds into the four regions, so they will be weakened by that lack. Allying with us will grant them some local advantages. This would be an arrangement that benefits everyone!”

The Blazing Sun master sank into deep thought. Cooperating with external forces was to make a deal with the devil. Granted, the other’s major goal would be Skyward.

“How are things at the chaos pillars lately?” he asked.

“The chaos tribulation region has entered a rare period of quiet,” nodded the other exalted emperor. “Although the process will still be a hassle, passing through the region is a possibility. It will be a bit dangerous, but also not that dangerous.”

“I don’t mind the danger.” The Blazing Sun master rubbed his forehead. “I almost lost sight of the greater picture, thanks to New Martial’s nonsense. Even if we don’t go to the outsiders, they might come to us during this period of quiet.

“Ah, well, it’s not too late to learn of this now. I can’t leave the world at present and it’s best if the seventh ranks stay to defend. Is there anyone willing to visit the chaos tribulation region and meet the outsiders?”

A group of exalted emperors looked at each other, all of them fearful. There were thunder tribulations in that area—not ordinary tribulations, but chaos ones!

Li Hao might be used to eating chaos tribulations for breakfast, but they were exceedingly dangerous to most exalted emperors. Such tribulations differed from regular tribulations in that they were gathered near the chaos pillars. The thunderbolts ceased their attack once someone passed through the area.

However, utmost caution was required all the same. The slightest misstep might lead to one’s death.

“Anyone who is willing to step forward will receive three hundred million dao crystals for their personal wealth,” the Blazing Sun master promised with a frown. “If Blazing Sun can devour New Martial, we are certain to produce many more seventh ranks. You will be given priority consideration as well!”

Although this was just drawing a pretty picture in the sky, it wasn’t outside the realm of possibility given that a death feud existed between New Martial and the rest of the four regions now. If New Martial could be devoured...

Everyone yearned to reach seventh rank.

“My liege, I am willing to answer the call!” said a bold exalted emperor. “But I am only a sixth rank and may not be graced with the attention of a seventh or eighth rank. They may not believe that I represent Blazing Sun either!”

“That is simple to resolve.” The Blazing Sun master nodded with a smile. “I bestow upon you some strength from the Blazing Sun dao origin! It will be enough for you to convince one or two eighth ranks to come!”

Too many eighth ranks wouldn’t be ideal either; they might reverse their role from guest to host instead.
