Chapter 1022: True Devilish Art
When Qin Sang heard Bai’s words, his mind stirred slightly. "I’ve met her before. Back then, when the monster uprising trapped me in the Demonic Sea, I accepted Granny Yue’s invitation and went to a place where true devilish qi had gathered to rescue her. For some reason, perhaps due to her physique or cultivation art, she was able to directly absorb true devilish qi into her body. Even Spiritual Infant cultivators cannot do that..."
"After that, we never met again. Somehow, Su Nu later ended up under the Dongji Alliance leader’s command..." Qin Sang quickly recounted Su Nu’s background, hoping it would awaken part of Bai’s lost memories.
True devilish qi, also known as ancient devilish qi, likely came from the same era as Bai.
"True devilish qi..." Bai fell silent, lost deep in thought.
Seeing that Bai gave no response, Qin Sang looked up at Su Nu flying toward him. His mind turned rapidly as he put on a mask and drew an ordinary spiritual sword from his Mustard Seed Pouch.
Whoosh!
Focused solely on escaping, Su Nu did not notice Qin Sang concealed nearby as she flew past overhead.
A moment later, a massive Snow Eagle followed, sweeping through the sky in pursuit, wrapped in icy wind. As the Snow Eagle passed by, Qin Sang suddenly struck.
Swish!
His spiritual sword sliced through the cold wind, bursting forth in dazzling sword light. It spun rapidly, transforming into a sword wheel aimed directly at the Snow Eagle’s abdomen.
The last time they met, Su Nu had seen his ebony sword and might recognize it. Since the identity of Daoist Master Qingfeng was entangled with Old Devil Mou, Qin Sang chose not to reveal himself and used another sword instead.
Having mastered the Sword Light Division, he could now manifest sword wheels without relying on his life-bound spiritual sword. As for the Heavenly Demon Transformation, almost no one knew of it, and Su Nu had never seen it personally, so there was no need to conceal that part.
The Snow Eagle was powerful, with extremely sharp senses. The instant Qin Sang revealed himself, it detected the danger. Its body twisted violently in mid-air, narrowly avoiding a strike to its vital point. Its metallic wings beat fiercely, slamming toward the flying sword. But how could Qin Sang’s full-powered sword technique be broken so easily?
Boom!
A deafening explosion echoed through the sky.
The Snow Eagle let out a shrill cry and staggered sideways, tumbling before regaining balance after several frantic flaps.
Blood streaked across the ice below, and a long sword wound split open its wing, scattering white feathers. In pain and fury, the Snow Eagle screeched wildly.
Hearing the commotion, Su Nu turned her head. Seeing the scene, she froze momentarily in surprise.
"What are you waiting for! Come help me slay this beast before you draw even more ferocious beasts here!" Qin Sang shot her a cold glare and pressed his attack on the Snow Eagle.
Su Nu looked at the masked cultivator, puzzled as to why he would help her. Her mind spun with questions, but considering her dire situation, there was no time for useless thoughts.
Biting her lip, she swallowed a healing pill, suppressed her injuries, and summoned her devilish saber to join Qin Sang in the hunt.
Qin Sang did not use his full strength, but his sword techniques were superb. His sword wheel alone forced the Snow Eagle into retreat. Yet to end the battle quickly without revealing his hidden techniques, he summoned the white crane.
The white crane was weaker than the Snow Eagle, but it was cunning and ruthless, darting around and attacking the beast’s lower body, inflicting constant pain. Since following Qin Sang, the white crane had always fought this shamelessly.
Every time Qin Sang saw it, he felt an involuntary chill in his groin. He swore he had never taught it such methods. It was simply in the creature’s nature. Still, since the tactic worked well, he let it be.
With Su Nu and the white crane joining in, the Snow Eagle could no longer fight back. Sensing danger, it tried to turn and flee, but it was already too late.
Squelch!
The white crane suddenly struck, clawing viciously at the Snow Eagle’s rear. The beast shrieked in agony, its eyes bulging.
Bang!
Seizing the moment, Su Nu’s devilish saber cleaved down, cutting deep into its body.
Feathers flew as the Snow Eagle wailed, losing balance and crashing heavily onto the ice.
A brilliant stream of sword light poured down like a falling galaxy, engulfing the beast completely. Blood spread across the frozen ground, quickly solidifying into crimson ice. The Snow Eagle lay motionless, dead.
The white crane’s claws dripped with blood. Looking disgusted, it wiped them clean on the eagle’s feathers.
Su Nu glanced at the white crane, then at Qin Sang. Bowing gracefully, she said softly, "My name is Su Nu. Thank you, Daoist, for saving my life."
Ignoring the white crane’s protests, Qin Sang recalled it into the Primordial Unity Ring, then burned the Snow Eagle’s corpse to erase the scent of blood. His voice was cold. "Hmph! You dared to lure a ferocious beast here and nearly dragged me into danger. Were it not for the fact that I am searching nearby for spiritual herbs and do not wish this area to be thrown into chaos, I would have left you to die."
Hearing this, Su Nu felt a faint wave of relief. She composed herself and said seriously, "No matter what, it is an undeniable fact that you saved my life. Might I know the name of my benefactor? Should the opportunity arise, I will surely repay your kindness."
Her eyes shimmered softly as she looked at Qin Sang with a delicate, pitiful expression. Unfortunately, such charm was wasted on someone as cold-hearted as him.
"Let’s leave this place first..." Qin Sang said curtly. With a light step, he activated his movement art and flew ahead.
Su Nu stamped her foot in frustration but dared not go her own way. She quickly followed, saying, "Thank you for the reminder, Daoist. I lingered too long after killing two minor beasts, and a group of ferocious beasts surrounded me. I barely managed to escape, only to attract this Snow Eagle. I was at my limit when you appeared. Your aid truly saved me."
Her words were not entirely false. After being chased by the Ice Jiao King, she had used her spirit talisman and nearly escaped, but the Jiao King had drawn other great demons into the fray. She had exhausted every method to shake them off, only to encounter the Snow Eagle, whose speed was frighteningly fast.
The memory of that narrow escape still sent a chill through her heart. The two flew on for some distance, one ahead and one behind. Then Qin Sang halted his evasion light and turned to look at her. Su Nu’s hands clenched secretly, her heart tense.
"I found your cultivation art rather peculiar," Qin Sang said, pretending not to recognize her. "I’ve never seen anything like it. The black saber you formed earlier, its energy didn’t seem to be spiritual power. It resembled devilish qi, but not quite the same. What kind of power is that?"
Su Nu’s expression eased slightly. She replied softly, "The power I wield is indeed not spiritual power. Even if Daoist has never seen it, you must have at least heard of it. It is called true devilish qi."
"True devilish qi?" Qin Sang feigned surprise. "You mean the devilish qi said to exist since ancient times? It’s believed that only a few rare places still hold remnants of it today, and even devilish cultivators fear it. You can actually use it for cultivation? Is your technique an ancient devilish art?"
Su Nu shook her head, answering honestly, "I’m not certain whether it is an ancient devilish art. This art was bestowed upon me by my sect’s seniors. They only told me that it's called the
True Devilish Art
but never explained its true origin."
"True Devilish Art," Qin Sang repeated thoughtfully, then asked Bai in secret, hoping the name might stir his memory.
